Each year, hundreds of wounded veterans, other individuals facing an array of mental and physical challenges, and their caregivers learn the fly-fishing basics, or show off their advanced skills with help from Anglers of Honor. And helping us make these fantastic outings possible are our nonprofit partner River Deep Foundation and Lincoln Hills Fly Fishing Club, home to some of Colorado’s most pristine and prestigious waters.
We are pleased to share the 2024 dates for fun-filled, catch-and-release trout fishing and a free lunch with new friends:
- May 25
- June 8
- July 13
- August 24
- September 28
- October 12
Please note that a Colorado fishing license is required to fish on some waters. However, pond fishing is available and does not require state licensure. Professional guides, gear and wheelchair access will be provided.

Participants are referred by Craig Hospital, Fort Carson’s Soldier Recovery Unit, Operation TBI Freedom and the Veterans Administration Hospital — but limited spots may be available for qualifying individuals. Please contact River Deep Foundation Executive Director and President of Anglers of Honor Bob Adwar for more information at 303-881-0400 or bob@riverdeepfoundation.org. We also hope you will explore the foundation’s website because River Deep hosts a wide array of fantastic events throughout the year, including archery, blacksmithing, cooking classes, horseback riding and scuba diving. Like Anglers of Honor, the foundation is dedicated to helping military veterans and other individuals who have experienced physical, psychological or emotional trauma — and those who assist them — heal and re-engage in life through adventure recreation and a network of support.
